AECP watercolor mixed media class
These two cards are inspired by the water color media lesson for the AECP level one. In this class water color pencils were used to create soft details in the flowers.
I used the magnolia flower and heat embossing powder. For both cards I used water color pencils with the technique demonstrated in the class taking the paint brush to the pencil than the flowers. Slowly but surely I built up the color And fetal I was looking for.
For the gold card I created a backdrop with the fancy die cover and cut a simple rectangle stitch border for the flower itself. (These flower is raised on foam tape as is the gold backdrop piece. This is one level higher than the sentiment Hello.) Both the sentiment and comfiest cover were very detailed. As such I attached double sided adhesive to both before proceeding with the cut.
The base for both cards was created with watercolor washes and the shimmer spray for added shine.
I very much liked the wash in the first card. I wanted to showcase this one, so I created a frame by reverse embossing a border around the card. I added accents with details around the sentiment and the little ribbon.
These cards will be donated to some members in the community to help spread some cheer to isolated people and families.
