Happy New Year Cards and heat embossing

For these cards I tried some new embossing techniques. I wanted the beautiful detail of the Flower Garden stamp and the Perfectly Perfect flower stamp sets to shine through. I choose to stamp these in gold and antique gold, respectively. After which, I embossed both with a translucent Pearl.

This ink is conducive for heat embossing powders as it retains it's "stickiness" longer than the water based colors. The embossing will give a slightly raised appearance and added shine complimenting the incredible details of the stamps.

For the card on the left, I continued to use the same process with both the sentiment and the fancy frame. I than used the cooresponding die cut and raised the frame with small pieces of double sided foam tape. The background for this card is a very light green and gold airbrushed stencil.

For the card on the right, I used the traditional heat embossing gold powder for sentiment. I attached a double sided adhesive sheet to the Altenew mirror gold paper and used the geometric die cuts to create the gold outline. Again, I raised the sentiment and used various amounts of foam adhesive to create depth and layers for the flowers.

The background was created with the Altenew black cardstock and washi tape. Though as you can see the black paper bleeds through the washi tape a bit. Next time, I will put it on white paper before layering it on black paper.
