Heat embossing Resistance and Watercolor

As I began taking the ACEP heat embossing courses, I learned a few new techniques. One I truly enjoyed is using the embossing stamped images to create a Resistance barrier for water colors and ink blending


These same techniques can be used to create beautiful and detailed flowers. As I did with the flower card below. I used the a translucent Pearl embossing powder over a black pigment ink to create a natural raised barrier with a bit of shimmer. With these flowers, I continued exploring with my metallic water colors to create beautifully blended flowers. These were die cut and layered over a stenciled backgrounds. (This was created with the traditional methods of ink blending and using a removable adhesive on the stencil).
